Fundraiser Discount Cards Are Just as Effective as Ever

You may have heard of fundraiser discount cards before you were ever involved in fundraising, as they've been around for a long time.  There is a reason for that - they're a super easy, effective way to raise money for church or school groups, sports teams, and other non-profit organizations.  Just like the candy bar, fundraiser discount cards have become a staple in fundraising, however the cards are far more profitable and easier to sell than candy bars!

With more and more people developing health issues such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and other conditions that contribute to heart disease and obesity, many people are becoming more health conscious.  Fundraiser discount cards are a "healthy" way for your group to raise funds for uniforms, a special trip in the spring, or any other need you may have.  Even in tough economic conditions as we've experienced over the last four years, most customers would rather spend $10 on a card that will save them a substantial amount of money over a one year time period than $2 on a candy bar that won't be around in 10 minutes, and that will only contribute to a bigger waistline.

So, what's the secret that has made fundraiser discount cards a popular choice for raising funds for so many years?  Actually, there are several reasons more groups choose the cards over all other products and/or activities.  They're hugely profitable, customers love them, there's very little work involved as far as planning and promotion go, and the whole community benefits.  No storage or spoilage worries like you find with many food products sold for fundraising purposes.

How profitable are these credit-sized cards?  The profit margins rise the more cards your organization purchases and sells.  For example, maybe you have a very large group of people who will be selling the cards, say 200.  At this rate, it's easy for your group to sell 2,000 cards, as most people can sell at least 10 on their own.  You get 200 cards free with every 1,000 you buy, so you would get 2,400 cards.  If your organization sells all of the fundraiser discount cards, your profits total up to an amazing $20,500!  Try to think of other ways your group has raised funds over the past - it isn't likely you'll come up with anything that has ever raised that kind of money.

How does the community benefit when you choose the cards to raise funds?  Essentially, the offers on the cards will be discounts and buy-one-get-one-free offers at local merchant rather than those that are national.  This makes your customer want to buy the card, because the special offers are good at those merchants they patronize most.  The merchant benefits because of increased exposure, and new customers who may have never come into their business if it wasn't to get their discount.  This keeps commerce in your own neighborhood going strong, stimulating the economy.  It really is a winning situation for everyone involved, as your organization raises an incredible amount of money easily, the customer gets a great deal, and the merchants grow their businesses.

Now you can see why fundraiser discount cards are just as effective today as they were years ago, and they keep going strong!  Some things never change or get old, and this way of raising funds is one of them.  Why waste your energy and wear yourself out on other methods of fundraising that simply aren't as effective?
